- Biofeedback, a training program used to increase control over autonomic body
functions, is now used to treat about 150 disorders, including irritable
bowel syndrome (IBS).
- Naturopathic medicine has been used to treat irritable bowel
syndrome. Naturopaths often treat the disease in conjunction with medical
doctors. Naturopaths focus relatively more upon the whole person than the
disease condition. This can be helpful in the treatment of irritable bowel
syndrome, which may have a number of causative factors. Among the
treatments administered are dietary therapy, homeopathy, and
